The MNIT DCYF team supports critical systems and applications that ensure the welfare and development of Minnesota's children, youth, and families. As a Senior Applications Analyst/Developer, you will provide advanced professional knowledge and skills in information systems problem identification, requirements definition and determination of alternative solutions and to provide the analysis, design, development (coding), testing, implementation and support of systems including, but not limited to, MAXIS and PRISM. The position will also provide lead work and be a subject matter expert in the analysis, design, development (coding), implementation and support of the assigned project work.
This is a Remote Worker position (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1447-remoteworker.pdf) , where the employees home address shall serve as their official work location and must be located within the continental United States. Remote work is a condition of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:
Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of technology experience as a Mainframe Application developer.
Experience must also include the following:
Analyzing, designing, programming, and testing applications
Working with Natural as a developer.
Ability to evaluate and recommend alternative solutions to solve system level problems.
Working within a large diverse System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding amongst all parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Mainframe databases such as ADABAS, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, IMS, or similar.
Experience working with JCL and TSO in a developer role.
Previous development experience with the MAXIS system, including coding, enhancements, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, implement solutions, and assess effectiveness.
Ability to resolve system-wide complex problems with minimal supervision.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical staff.
Strong attention to detail with proven skills in documentation, estimation, analysis, and time management.
