A day in the life of a Retail Real Estate Project & Construction Manager at VF looks a little like this.
This strategic and tactical role combines leadership in program and project management with hands-on construction oversight to support consumer-led retail initiatives for Vans, The North Face, Timberland and other Outdoor & Action Sports (ODAS) brands. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end retail development-ensuring that design, construction, and execution align with brand strategy, global creative direction, and financial objectives.

Project & Program Management
Lead planning and execution of retail design and construction projects, ensuring alignment with business and brand strategies.
Develop and maintain project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet master schedules, budgets, and workload trackers).
Forecast resources, define deliverables, and ensure cross-functional collaboration.
Manage both internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, on budget, and within scope, including vendors, general contractors, architects, as well as brand partners.
Execute value engineering and competitive bidding processes to control or reduce costs and ensure we achieve and maintain supply chain excellence
Establish and refine operational processes, procedures, and collaborative tools.
Construction Management
Oversee all aspects of retail store construction, from planning and permitting to punch list and turnover.
Manage between 5 to 25 simultaneous projects at different stages, ensuring seamless transitions to Merchandising and Operations.
Conduct regular site visits and lead construction coordination meetings.
Interpret and review architectural and construction drawings to ensure quality and compliance.
Establish control-related standards and procedures with full transparency and integrity.
Budget & Schedule Oversight
Develop and manage capital budgets; track and report monthly expenditures.
Establish and monitor project timelines, identifying and mitigating delays and risks.
Partner with vendors and contractors to ensure milestones and quality standards are met.
Collaboration & Communication
Work cross-functionally with Retail Design, Operations, and Creative teams to ensure consistency in brand voice and design integrity.
Lead high-level internal and external communications throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive design development for longer-lead projects such as flagship locations.
What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years managing multiple, concurrent retail or commercial construction projects.
Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and make independent decisions.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Programs, Smartsheet, Adobe Suite of Programs, CPM toolkits such as Procore, Bluebeam, Multivista, etc.
Experience with architectural and construction drawings, materials, and processes.

Hiring Range :
$90,720.00 USD - $113,400.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
