Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
POSITION SUMMARY:Manufacturing Engineer 1 would provide their expertise in improving the manufacturing capabilities to produce products. Manufacturing Engineer will contributes to improving fabrication processes that can directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations. Manufacturing Engineer will participates in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment.
JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides expertise in developing engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of new and existing Parker Meggitt products
Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and practices to make judgments
Effectively exchanges straightforward technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding
Participates in the team's design and development work for new products
Contributes to improving processes that can directly impact the growth efforts of operations
Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
Other responsibilities as assigned
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Require a bachelor's degree is required in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
Years Experience: min 2 years of relevant experience
REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving
Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
Demonstrated teamwork and team-building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change
Preferred experience with NPI (new part introduction) programs regarding procurement and planning.
Preferred experience in industrial or aerospace sourcing of castings/forgings, complex machined parts, and electronics
Competitive Compensation
Pay Range: $69,500 to $115,000 annually
