Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through proto@type and testing phases. This role involves full lifecycle ownership of assigned customer projects, including packaging of electronic assemblies, thermal and vibration analysis, and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical systems with attention to cost, schedule, and performance.

Create 3D models and detailed assembly drawings using SolidWorks.

Design mechanical packaging for PCBAs and electronic components.

Perform FEA simulations for thermal, stress, and vibration analysis.

Build and test proto@types to validate design performance.

Analyze existing designs for improvement opportunities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.

Support tooling, mold making, and fixture design for production.

Work with materials such as foam, fiberglass, castings, resins, and aluminum.

Contribute to engineering documentation including specifications, ECOs, ECRs, and routers.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office tools.

Strong understanding of FEA tools for mechanical simulation.

Experience with PCB packaging and enclosure design.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

At least 3 years in a manufacturing environment with process ownership.

Familiarity with injection molding and composite materials.

Aerospace industry experience preferred.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to regulatory compliance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72.12 - $81.73/hr.
