Responsibilities

About Us:

Panasonic AI Lab team is focused on research and development of advanced AI technologies. Our team is looking for a motivated and talented individual to join us in this exciting journey.

What You'll Do:

We are seeking a PhD graduate student or recent graduate to join our team as an intern, working closely with team members to perform research on advanced AI technologies. The intern will work with the internal member, university collaborators, accomplish research on the selected topic, and submit an academia paper to the AI conference.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the internal AI lab project lead on the selected topic.

Collaborate with PhD supervisor and other university collaborators.

Report the weekly progress regarding the conducted project to all peers

Accomplish writing code, performing experiments and preparing conference paper forsubmission

Program Requirement(s):

Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree throughout the entirety of the internship.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

Strong technical background in the selected AI field.

Strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with collaborators and team members.

Proficient written communication skills for internal documentation and reporting.

Eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Background in AI model efficiency optimization, compression and quantization.

Knowledge of common ML frameworks and model development flow.

Learning Opportunities:

Gain hands-on experience in optimization of large language models.

Develop skills in collaboration with academia and industry partners.

Work in a collaborative environment with communication and support from the team, including usage of development infrastructure.

Additional Considerations:

This position may include a visit to internal/external collaborators or to present the accepted work at a conference. However, these will be flexible, and the intern's preferences will be taken into consideration.

Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to submit a paper to the top AI conference.
