Job Summary: The Access Center Assistant supports the Access Center, which is Water Street Mission's main entrance and front desk for all prospective and current guests. The Access Center Assistant offers outstanding hospitality and customer service to guests, visitors, and staff. This role is an entry-level position with potential for growth and promotion on the Social Services team or within WSM, as candidates demonstrate maturity and development in the role.
FLSA: Full-Time 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Non-Exempt
All Water Street Mission staff must be:

· A current and active member and/or regular attendee of a local church.
· Able to fully support the Water Street Mission's core values and ministry philosophy.
Provide Access Center desk and phone coverage: greet guests, visitors and staff, screen incoming guests for services eligibility, field phone calls and general inquiries, direct walk-ins, sort and deliver guest mail, schedule appointments for Social Services team members as directed, and complete other assigned administrative duties to support the function of the Access Center and Social Services teams.
Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of all WSM philosophies, policies, and procedures.
Provide seamless communication between the Access Center and other staff, seeking continual improvement and collaboration.
Maintain cleanliness of the Access Center areas.
Be continually aware of and sensitive to situations or incidents in the Access Center, requesting backup from trained and designated staff.
Attend all assigned internal and external meetings and training, including but not limited to regular team meetings, staff development days, etc.
Be able and willing to share the Gospel and participate in the ministry activities of Water Street Mission.
Subscribe to the Water Street Mission Statement of Faith and Qualifications of Employment upon hire and continuously while employed.

Role Specific Responsibilities
In partnership with the Access Center and Social Services teams, cultivate an environment of hospitality and excellent customer service so that who we serve and how we serve is a true expression of our purpose, mission, and values.
Maintain a working knowledge of community resources providers, regularly updating resource guides, and share resource information with guests, staff, and visitors as needed.
Monitor and stock supplies in the Access Center.
Complete accurate and timely documentation for relevant records.
Manage special projects as assigned.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (or degree in progress) preferred, although candidates with a relevant combination of education and experience will be considered. Administrative experience and/or experience in the areas of homelessness, behavioral health, substance abuse, or trauma-informed care preferred. Strong organizational skills are required. Competency in Microsoft Office products and ability to use or learn a case management software system is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred.
