Salesforce Marketing Cloud Programmer

Job Responsibilities:
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Web Developer will report to the University Advancement Director of Marketing and Communications, sit on the Marketing and Communications team, and cross-functionally collaborate with the Advancement Solutions team on a day-to-day basis.
Primary responsibilities include:
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Management
Implement, configure, administer, and optimize the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform and its tools, such as Journey Builder, Preference Center, Email Studio, and Automation Studio.
Manage data extensions, audience segmentation, and automation workflows.
Ensure seamless integration between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other systems.
Plan and perform A/B testing to define and execute enhancements to productivity, conversion rates, programs/campaign ROI, and engagement.
Troubleshoot and provide solutions to technical errors and technology misconfiguration.
Research, test, and apply best practices to improve marketing automation performance.
Backend Web Development
Maintain and update external-facing websites to ensure functionality, accessibility, and alignment with RIT brand guidelines.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new features and update content in a timely manner
Perform routine site audits, as well as ongoing maintenance, on an as-needed basis.
Handling Sensitive and Protected Data for Salesforce Input
Managing and processing information that ensures data accuracy.
Ensuring data is properly accessible for analysis and decision-making.
Troubleshoot and resolve data processing errors promptly.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, marketing, or other related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration or development.
Proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud tools (Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio).
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, AMPscript, SQL.
Experience managing websites, including CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal.
Knowledge about Data Privacy and Compliance regulations.
Strong analytical skills for platform performance evaluation and metrics analysis.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Highly organized and self-motivated with independent project management skills.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams effectively.
Ability to clearly and effectively convey complex information to individuals or groups of varying experience levels.
Must possess strong customer service orientation.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Proven track record of implementing marketing automation solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Be familiar with additional CRMs and email (campaign) platforms (Emma, Blackbaud, Slate, etc.).
Prior experience in Higher Education and/or Fundraising.
Relevant certifications such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator or Developer
Experience with front-end web design
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)

Job Summary:
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will be responsible for supporting the execution, optimization, and management of Salesforce Marketing Cloud while overseeing the division's external-facing web presence. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to enhance digital engagement and streamline marketing operations across the full constituent lifecycle, which includes acquisition, onboarding, activation, growth, retention, and reactivation.
