Reports to - Manager, Engineering and Continuous Improvement
Location - Williamsport, PA
Schedule - M-F 7A - 5PM
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Spartronics in Williamsport, PA, you are responsible for providing a predictable flow of quality product at rate. This includes interpretation of the customers Technical Data Package to ensure all customer requirements are being met, as prescribed in our New Product Introduction procedure. Some of the activities you will perform include creating Work Instructions using Aegis Factory Logix and other build-related documentation, reviewing and dispositioning Defective Material, Engineering Holds, reviewing and approving various ECO's, DCN's in our PLM, Arena. You will work closely with your Customer Focused Team in resolving any customer technical concerns related to the build and test of their products.
Provide a predictable flow of quality product at rate
Design assembly processes such as initial cell layout and flow, fixtures, equipment, tooling, and work Instructions (supported by technical writer)
Develop documentation such as manufacturing procedures, checklists, and assembly quality plans with Manufacturing Technicians and Documentation Specialists.
Provide technical support and training to the assembly line, including technical and management aspects of new-build programs, assisting with the development of inspection criteria, and solicitation of assembler feedback
Provide recommendation for enhancements and cost reductions, initiate ECNs, and formulate cost impacts
Perform first pass yield analysis including root cause and corrective action of top offenders
Participate in continuous process improvement activities
Work closely with Materials to assess project requirements, evaluate material issues
Perform equipment evaluations including financial analysis
Monitor and maintain technical project schedule and milestones, organize internal meetings, and give timely status reports
Participate positively in Spartronics community and personnel development, advising Spartronics management on continuous improvements. Advise sales personnel concerning cost changes, cycle time estimates, project approach, and customer interface
Utilize and apply LEAN and Six Sigma tools
Support existing customer, existing p/n quotes
Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you need to bring to the table:
Education - BS in a STEM related field (experience may be substituted)
Experience - 4-7 years' experience in electronics manufacturing
Skills/Technology
Good problem-solving skills including DOE
Good written and verbal communication skills
APQP familiarity
Process Flows
Control plans
FMEA
Product/Process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer on sustaining products as well as new product introductions

$72,000 - $92,000 based on skills and experience
