The Manufacturing Engineer leads and supports technical activities that enhance manufacturing operations, product quality, and equipment reliability. Key responsibilities include implementing and improving production processes, developing new product cells, and driving initiatives to increase uptime, OEE, and overall output. The role also involves specifying and justifying new tooling or capital equipment, coordinating tool and die maintenance and repair, and collaborating with Quality to support corrective actions.
Operating within an ISO environment, the Manufacturing Engineer ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards while promoting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles. Responsibilities include drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting training, managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and Performance Control Systems (PCS), and leading Kaizen teams to drive continuous improvement.
The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on meeting customer expectations, proactively identifying and preventing issues, and driving continuous improvement to deliver strong results for customers, employees, and overall business performance.
Essential Functions
Production & Technical Plant Support:
Troubleshoot and optimize extrusion processes to minimize downtime, reduce scrap, and improve reliability.
Provide technical support for production equipment and facility systems, ensuring both routine and complex issues are addressed quickly.
Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and quality teams to investigate and resolve product, process, and equipment issues with both short-term fixes and long-term improvements.
Manage tooling maintenance and vendor repairs to keep tools and dies in serviceable condition and available for production.
Support product and process improvements, including corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to address root causes and maintain compliance.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement Responsibilities
Lead projects that improve machine efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality using Lean, OPEX, or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
Propose, justify, and execute capital projects (CAPEX) that enhance site safety, quality, and productivity, supported by ROI and strategic value.
Support the introduction and validation of new equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
Coordinate project deliverables to align with scope, budget, and timelines, while engaging cross-functional teams for successful implementation.
Develop SOPs, deliver training, and apply structured problem-solving to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
Audit production areas to ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Promote a culture of safety and enforce safe work practices across the facility.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (required)
Master's Degree in Engineering (preferred)
2 + Years progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in planning and executing projects of varying scope and complexity--
