Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The Quality Control (QC) Inspector in a gear manufacturing facility is responsible for ensuring that all gears and related components meet strict quality standards, specifications, and industry regulations. Position starts at $22.00 per hour.

Essential Functions:

Inspection of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision measuring tools and specialized inspection equipment.

Works closely with production, engineering, and management to identify defects, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement in quality processes.

Use a variety of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs) to assess production dimensions and tolerances.

Perform visual inspections to detect defects or non-conformities and document findings.

Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate product measurements.

Assist in troubelshooting quality issues and work with the production team to resolve them promptly.

Support continous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and insights from inspections.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in quality control, machining, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in a quality inspection role within a gear manufacturing or precision machining environment.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs, etc.).

Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Familiarity with gear-specific standards helpful.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and process sheets.

Knowledge of CNC machining, heat treatment processes, and material properties is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25lbs.

Manual dexterity and visual acuity to inspect small, precise components.

Comfortable working in a factory setting with exposure to noise, heat, and machining operations.
