Grounded in a comprehensive, broad-based education and enriched by hands-on research opportunities, SIUE equips its students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a global marketplace and positively impact their communities.\ \ What You Will Do\ \ Consulting services by giving guidance on operations and/or troubleshooting of equipment or process issues.\ FLSA: Non-Exempt\ \ Minimum Acceptable Qualifications\ \ Skills and knowledge of project management, planning, guiding, and directing plant engineering to achieve plant operations objectives for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Chemical, mechanical, or process experience in a manufacturing or pilot plant environment with a background in chemicals, oil refining or bio-refining. Must possess strong organizational, problem-solving, strong communication skills, be a team player, and the ability to effectively lead and develop others. Experience in process/project engineering and working with technical personnel, operations personnel, and clients is critical.\ \ (A) Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or similar field) or a Science discipline (Chemistry or Biology) or closely related field AND three (3) years experience in engineering support or closely related duties.\ \ OR\ \ (B) Seven (7) years of mechanical, electrical, and/or process control experience in a pilot or research plant\ environment.\ \ Supplemental Information\ \ Application Materials and Information:\ \ To be eligible for the role, ensure that your application includes a complete and detailed employment history that highlights your relevant full-time and part time work experience, including start and end dates of employment, and at least three professional references.\ Applications must be submitted by the specified closing date no later than 11:59 p.m. CST.\ \ About Extra Help Positions:\ \ Extra Help job listings typically close three days after the opening date, unless specified in the closing date. Extra Help employees are appointed to fulfill casual or emergent needs within the university. The amount of time for which services are needed is not usually predictable and payment for work performed is on an hourly basis and based on actual hours worked. Workdays and hours may vary according to departmental requirements. Extra Help employees do not receive SIUE benefits, holiday pay or paid sick or vacation leave.\ \ Extra Help employees are required by State Universities Civil Service System rules to take a 30-calendar-day break after working 900 hours. At the end of the 30 days, you may begin another 900-hour employment cycle in a new position if available.
