The Early Childhood Collaboration Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the educational services, training activities, instructional resources and support functions for early learning providers and school districts to enhance student learning and achievement in preschool, with a focus on Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) programming. This position will provide consultation and support professional development activities for Administrators/Directors, staff, community early care and education providers and faculty at Institutes of Higher Education to enhance the educational effectiveness of evidence-based instruction as it relates to the core elements of the Minnesota PreK-3rd Grade Framework, Successful Learner Equation, and the integration of requirements in legislation regarding all early learning programs, including World's Best Work Force, LEAPS, ECFE, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, Early Learning Scholarships, and Health and Developmental Screening.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize, coordinate and implement the educational services, legislation, training activities and instructional resources of the core components of the PreK-3rd Grade Framework with an emphasis on effective implementation of VPK for awarded communities and school districts.
Develop and provide supports for communities as they implement high quality early learning programming through a mixed delivery system, in partnership with agency partners supporting child care programs and providers, Head Start programs, and early childhood special education, and in coordination with the Minnesota Department of Education's COMPASS team.
Compile, review and analyze a variety of technical data and information related to instructional effectiveness; and prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports tracking the impact of the state's investments in early learning, with a focus on VPK.
Perform other duties as assigned and serve as an effective member of the Early Learning Services division by contributing so division responsibilities and activities are accomplished in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of experience in an early education or related field that demonstrates the following:
Knowledge of child development and the early care and education system
Experience with curriculum, student assessment, and the application of educational standards
Experience with training, technical assistance and supporting internal/external stakeholders
Experience working with children, families and/or communities representing populations that experience inequitable opportunities based on race, geography and/or dis/ability
Experience with continuous quality improvement using data (qualitative and/or quantitative) to improve programs or policies
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and experience with building community and effective collaborations.
Project management experience.
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
