Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Development of a specialized medical reference application focused on pediatric trauma algorithms.
This iOS-based clinical decision support tool will guide healthcare providers through evidence-based assessment and treatment protocols for pediatric trauma cases. Algorithm utilized was independently developed by the Pediatric trauma team. Developed as an outside of work basis with an estimated timeline of 6-8 months from start of development to a locally deployable application. Anticipated time remaining 2-3 months. Timeline negotiable and can be moved up for urgent client needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core SwiftUI Development
Develop a dynamic user interface allowing rapid transition through the trauma algorithm.
Create a consistent user experience across all views
UI/UX Design & Component Reusability
Optimize for institutional deployment on Apple-supported devices, including the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and newer.
Design user friendly layouts optimized for clarity and ease of use
Create reusable components to ensure consistency as well as allow for critical updates.
Should utilize URMC suggested color schemes
Clinical Algorithm Implementation
Convert trauma algorithm to conditional logic flow with user facing decision support tools
Testing, Debugging, and Logic Validation
Debug app logic and UI issues
Client updates during build and testing
Device testing on Apple iPhone as stated above
Deployment & Documentation
Handling provisioning profiles
TestFlight deployment
Internal URMC App store readiness
Internal documentation
Future Planning & Architecture for Expansion
Design the architecture with scalability in mind
Where possible, refine code to allow for reusability of components and standardization
Incorporate legal disclaimer into splash screen for possible future deployments
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience Required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
2 years of relevant experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Required
Experience with and knowledge of a modern object-oriented programming language and framework Required
Experience retrieving and writing to databases Required
Experience with industry standard development tools and technologies, including IDEs, such as Visual Studio, and source control tools, such as Git Required
Experience in the higher education, medical, or healthcare industry preferred
Experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks preferred
Experience designing database schemas and data models preferred
Experience with project management methodologies, including Agile, from planning through implementation preferred
Exposure to administering servers, including patching, configuring and debugging issues preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
AWS Certified Developer Cloud developer certification, such as Azure Developer or AWS Developer Associate upon hire Preferred
