Summary You will serve as a PLANNER & ESTIMATOR (AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC) in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTENT, PRODUCTION LINES DIVISION of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will interpret blueprints, manual and technical materials. You will communicate verbally and in writing with all level of personnel. You will examine and determine depth of rework on various engine components and parts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision performing the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Estimate costs and preparing job order specifications to assign work to Engine rework shops or trade groups; 2) Analyze work orders for manufacture or repair of aircraft, aircraft engines and their components; 3) Estimate time and costs, manpower and materials required to accomplish work; 4) Prepare schedules to designate work to be accomplished by engine rework shops; and 5) Examine aeronautical equipment to be repaired or modified to determine the sequence of operations and work required.
