Job Description
Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to coordinate and monitor field construction administration activities and support Project Managers in managing implementation teams for projects of varying size and complexity. This role will be located in Dallas, TX. Also, this role ensures construction is completed in compliance with design specifications, within budget, and on schedule. The Construction Manager will serve as the liaison between contractors, internal stakeholders, and city representatives to maintain project quality, safety, and operational continuity.
Responsibilities
Oversee field and construction activities, including directing construction coordinators and other CM support staff as approved by AUS
Perform quality control checks on personal work product and that of assigned staff
Support the Airport Program Manager (APM) in coordinating with other City of Austin departments, including Capital Delivery, Procurement, Development Services, and Finance
Assist the APM, Project Manager, and Capital Delivery Project Manager (CDPM) in change management and scope development
Coordinate with City Engineering Construction Coordinators from the Capital Delivery Services Department
Serve as liaison between contractors and internal AUS stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, and Security
Attend contractor progress meetings, punch walks, mockup reviews, and other project meetings as required
Verify contractor mobilization schedules and make recommendations to the APM regarding contractual requirements before issuance of the Notice to Proceed
Maintain detailed project schedules to track design reviews, procurement, and construction activities
Collaborate with pre-construction and design teams to review plans for constructability and cost implications
Review and approve contractors' Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and logistics plans
Oversee quality services to ensure contractors meet contractual standards
Review, adapt, and monitor construction safety programs
Lead periodic construction meetings to address issues affecting cost and schedule
Support the review and negotiation of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) field costs, equipment, and general conditions
Work with AUS's Environmental Team to ensure compliance with all environmental requirements
Monitor construction and prepare reports confirming compliance with contract requirements
Coordinate with safety and risk management teams to maintain a safe and secure project site
Provide input for monthly pay application reviews to assist the APM and CDPM in finalizing billings
Review daily construction reports and weekly work plans to ensure schedule adherence
Support the change order review process, including reviewing contractor estimates, negotiating changes, and assisting with required approvals
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification
Proven experience managing field construction activities, including oversight of contractors and CM staff
Strong understanding of quality assurance/quality control processes, construction safety, and schedule management
Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders and departments in a large-scale infrastructure environment
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software
Experience managing projects in an airport or similar operationally sensitive environment
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $145,000.00 - $230,000.00.
