Description
The Client Advocate (CA) is a key client-facing role within WTW's Construction industry vertical division (IVD), responsible for maintaining and strengthening relationships with clients in the construction sector. This role requires a deep understanding of the construction industry's unique challenges, risks, and regulatory landscape, enabling the CA to deliver tailored solutions that support clients' strategic and operational goals.
As a Client Advocate, you will lead Middle to Lower Middle Market accounts and support broader Middle Market engagements. You'll identify and develop new opportunities by expanding services, products, and solutions with existing clients. You will also contribute to the RFP process, participate in oral presentations, and help shape compelling pitches. Comfort with developing innovative, client-centric solutions is essential.
In addition to client responsibilities, the CA will collaborate with the Head of Client Advocacy on operational initiatives including training, performance metrics (KPIs), turnaround times, quality and adoption standards, and compliance-related matters.
A successful Client Advocate in the Construction IVD will demonstrate:
Strong negotiation skills
Effective management and mentoring of Associate Client Advocates (ACAs)
Robust project management capabilities
Clear and persuasive presentation skills
Industry-specific insight into construction-related risks, insurance needs, and regulatory requirements

The Role
Owns and drives client strategy
Retains existing book of business, develop, and strengthen client relationships
Maximizes the profitability of the client account & drives retention of that business
Design and deliver client presentations/proposals, client advocacy reports, client service plans and schedules
Follow up on client requests and communicate changes
Deliver confirmation of coverage to the client
Identify and pursue cross sell opportunities
Educate the client on the various offerings and solutions WTW has to offer
Creates and manages the E365 plan for the client
Manages new business and the RFP process
Qualifications
The Requirements
Targeted 6+ years of commercial Property & Casualty experience in a client facing role or demonstrated capabilities to complete role responsibilities
Able to apply knowledge of coverage forms in the analysis of program design, the identification of coverage gaps, and ongoing coverage consultation
Ability to interpret, analyze, and present analytical models
Relationship Management skills: able to leverage internal and external relationships to bring WTW resources and assets tailored to client needs; ability to drive conflict resolution
Negotiation skills: Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to do complex deals, drive consensus across internal and external stakeholders to close deals and the ability to drive conflict resolution and secure concessions mitigating injury to client relationships
Business Acumen; knowledge of strategy, tactics, and solutions for the client, and/or in the marketplace
Knowledge of commercial insurance renewal end-to-end process, steps and owners
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; group presentation skills, ability to drive complex/technical conversations
Excellent project management skills: end-to-end oversight of large, complex, ambiguous, or multi-dimensional projects
Effectively advocates for change. Provides encouragement, takes control of team projects, leads key work areas, collaborates with others, provides clear guidance to ensure others fulfill roles effectively
Receptive to feedback; critical thinking and problem-solving skills, high adaptability
Intellectual curiosity to help develop innovative and creative ideas
Proficient Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with other relevant online tools
Must achieve and maintain insurance brokers P&C license and complete various continuing education activities as needed
Insurance industry designations preferred but not required (CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRIS, CRM)
