JOB REQUIREMENTS: Join a mission-driven team dedicated to saving lives as a Facilities Maintenance Specialist at The Community Blood Center. This hands-on role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, equipment repair, general building upkeep, and grounds care. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, and project support, as well as the ability to coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized repairs and fleet maintenance. JOB SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Specialist has the opportunity to make a difference by performing routine to general maintenance services across all Community Blood Center locations and assists in maintaining the Company\'s vehicle fleet. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned): 1. Maintains daily preventative maintenance logs and equipment repair records across all locations, and complies with all local, state and federal regulatory requirements. 2. Performs general maintenance services across all locations including painting, carpentry, plumbing, buildings and grounds maintenance, and snow removal. 3. Assists in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as general mechanical/electrical systems, and works with third parties as appropriate to complete repairs. 4. Assists in maintaining vehicle fleet by working with third parties for general repairs and maintenance. 5. Provides project management and technician skills when working on small construction projects. 6. Serves as a backup for warehouse receiving, and distribution of supplies to departments across all locations. 7. Shares phone coverage for deliveries and maintenance help desk; evaluates and addresses facility/maintenance issues during off-hours. 8. Supports and promotes a strong safety culture with all staff and in all job activities. 9. Maintains the facilities in accordance with all Company policies and procedures. ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED required. Experience in facilities and general maintenance. Requires attention to detail to continually look for areas needing attention and repair. Good time management skills for the variety of tasks involved and a knowledge of general maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. May occasionally be required to lift objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have a current driving record that meets Company standards. Knowledge of building maintenance concepts, public building and safety codes. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff, customers and vendors. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
