Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Midland, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about optimizing financial processes and collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities:

Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense reports.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receipts while addressing discrepancies.

Input and maintain financial data in accounting software, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to support decision-making processes.

Maintain organized records of financial transactions and supporting documentation for audit purposes.

Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding billing and payment matters.

Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and address any issues.

Assist with expense reports and employee reimbursement requests, ensuring they are processed accurately.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and implement efficiency-enhancing solutions.

Document accounting processes and provide training to new team members as needed. Requirements - Proficient in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Strong experience with billing functions and account reconciliation.

Familiarity with accounting software and data entry practices.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.

Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Effective communication skills for addressing vendor, client, and departmental inquiries.

Ability to work collaboratively across teams to support financial operations.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
