Job Description
This position provides supervisory fiscal management, policy implementation, and operational oversight for the Saint Paul College Business Office and Tuition Office. Reporting to and supporting the Director of Business Services, the position oversees core financial operations including accounting, payroll, procurement, grant administration, and audit compliance. The role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and develops and maintains internal controls, financial systems, and business procedures across assigned accounting areas. The position exercises supervisory responsibility with limited oversight, exercising sound judgment and accountability to support the College's fiscal integrity, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Job Duties:
Provide operational oversight of the Business and Tuition Office.
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff assigned to the Business Office and Tuition Office so that the functions of the Business Office are performed.
Ensure that proper procedures and policies are established and maintained and to assure that employees under jurisdiction will effectively perform job duties to achieve the annual objectives of the unit.
Act as principal fiscal advisor and project lead.
Manage institutional asset and inventory management.
Manage Institutional fiscal reconciliations and reporting
Complete FA Reconciliations and monitor funds available for first aid applied for the term.
Manage Institutional representation and strategic participation and any other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Salary Range:
The salary salary range for this position is $30.10 - $43.59 hourly.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in accounting totaling two years;
Experience supervising, coaching, leading and/or providing work direction of a team;
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and business administration practices within accounting structures;
Knowledge of contracts and processes;
Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Suite of products;
Knowledge of financial reporting and the ability to interpret complex financial reports and records, recognize problems, and effect solutions using accounting software;
Customer service skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful, and professional manner in person, over the phone and in writing.
Preferred Qualification
Working knowledge of MinnState, MAPS, SCUPPS and SEMA4 systems and their interrelationship;
Working knowledge of financial aid accounting and reporting requirements;
Considerable knowledge of MinnState coding structure;
Considerable knowledge of MinnState financial policies and procedures;
Experience with the State of Minnesota Contract process and preparing RFP's;
Knowledge of human resources principles, procedures, and systems sufficient to manage and maintain harmonious labor relations environment in accordance with collective bargaining and affirmative action and equal opportunity policies;
Experience establishing partnerships across organizations;
Experience working in a multi-unit collaborative environment with proven experience with commitment to customer service and collaborative leadership.
