As a Senior Data Scientist on this Redmond-based Windows Data team , you will be part of Microsoft's AI transformation, impacting the experience of billions of Windows users. You'll explore novel ways to extract insights from data, design experiments, and build models that drive clarity and customer success.

Responsibilities
You will work closely with a variety of teams including senior leadership, product management, software engineers, design, and User Research to shape business and product strategy through the use of data-backed insights.
You will identify instrumentation needs, define and set up metrics and OKRs, deeply analyze the data to identify insights and experiment ideas that move our business metrics. ?
You will design and execute on Growth Experiments, analyze results to identify key insights. You will help evaluate the return of investments on new ideas, to assess if investments are meeting customer and business promises, and hypotheses and insights to drive growth.
You will build models that predict customer behavior that will be used to drive personalized features and targeted outreach efforts. You will drive best practices for models and develop operational models that run at scale. You'll also conduct thorough reviews of data analysis and modeling techniques, and identify and invent new evaluation methods.
You will research and maintain a deep knowledge of the industry, including trends and technologies, so that you can identify strategy opportunities and contribute to thought leadership best practices. You'll also write extensible code that spans multiple features, and develop expertise in proper debugging techniques.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years' experience in customer-facing project-delivery, professional services, and/or consulting.
Experience in customer-facing roles involving developers as stakeholders, or direct hands-on experience in software development
Experience managing structured and unstructured data including coding in at least one high-level programming language such as Python, R, C/C++, C#, or Java.

Experience with Exploratory Data Analyses, Inference analysis, Predictive analysis (Regression, Classification, etc.) and forecasting.
Demonstrated ability to lead in complex and ambiguous environments by applying critical thinking, technical skills, and strategic influence to drive measurable results.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate cross-team and cross-function to deliver impact.
Data Science IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
