Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking an Agile Product Owner to join our team in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program. This position will serve as an in-ward facing technical planning/execution Lead who will be responsible for setting a strategic vision for the technical execution of the software team and serve as authority over the team's technical roadmap and closure of epics.
This Agile Product Owner will represent Product Management and the voice of customers on the Agile development team. They will collaborate with Product Managers to define the work so that the integrated team can review, commit, and execute within a defined period. They prioritize key areas of work during a program increment, ensure that the software development team understands the intent and requirements of feature and user story definitions, and that the team is aligned on all acceptance criteria. They will represent customer interests and will continuously dictate team backlog priorities. This Agile PO must have a strong understanding of Agile PO role and technical experience developing and fielding command and control systems (TT&C, Flight Dynamics, etc) for Space Systems.
This position will be at our site either in Morrisville, North Carolina or Fairfax, Virginia. This position requires being on-site and does not support remote or hybrid work.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate's experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.
This position is contingent upon the verification and transfer of current/active DoD security clearance and program access as required for business needs.
Basic Qualifications
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at the time of application [ US Citizenship required ]
Minimum years of experience needed to be considered:
Level 3 (Principal)
5 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's
3 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's
1 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD
7 Years of relevant software engineering experience with a completed associate's degree
9 years of relevant work software engineering experience in lieu of a completed degree ( High School diploma or equivalent is required )
Level 4 (Sr Principal)
8 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's
6 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's
4 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD
10 Years of relevant software engineering experience with a completed associate's degree
12 years of relevant work software engineering experience in lieu of a completed degree ( High School diploma or equivalent is required )
3+ years' experience working in a software Agile delivery framework
3+ years of experience with product lifecycles for new and existing products (replacement for must have product development experience)
2+ years of product roadmap development experience
Experience converting technical and business requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories
Experience presenting and conducting demos of software product to users/leadership/stakeholders
Demonstrated communication skills and visionary on business, user experience, and technical sides of product development
Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira and Confluence)
Experience leading a product development team
Preferred Qualifications
Product owner certification or any other major Agile certification
Experience with both COTS solution and custom application development
Experience as a Scrum Master
Experience leading or supporting distributed teams
Has experience as a software developer to better interact and direct the team
Knowledge of container security best practices
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
Solid understanding of Kubernetes (Helm charts, service discovery, autoscaling, etc.)
Knowledgeable with Python
Technical experience developing and fielding command and control systems (TT&C, Flight Dynamics, etc) for Space Systems

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
