University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Department of Neurosurgeryis currently seeking anAcademic Services Coordinator. The selected candidate will play a vital role in the administration and daily operations of academic programs and initiatives within the Department of Neurosurgery, including residency and fellowship programs as well as medical student training. This individual will provide comprehensive support to the program/course directors, residents, faculty, and departmental leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and program objectives. The coordinator will manage a broad spectrum of duties including recruitment, onboarding, academic scheduling, evaluations, credentialing, and communication with accrediting bodies. PRIMARY DUTIES The Academic Services Coordinator supports a variety of day-to-day operations of departmental academic and training programs: · Maintain administrative activities to support academic programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and observers. · Uphold program compliance per institutional and national accreditation requirements. · Collaborate across teams and stakeholders as the expert resource on training programs. · Create and track programmatic goals and objectives. Update and monitor changes to program policies, procedures, and initiatives. · Schedule and track training assignments, enrollments, and schedules. Assist with implementing trainee experiences including lectures, workshops, and events. · Administer evaluation processes, track trainee and program metrics, and maintain program files. · Market academic programs to recruit competitive applicants. Coordinate annual recruitment processes including application management, interview scheduling, and communication with candidates. · Support onboarding for new trainees including credentialing, orientation logistics, and compliance documentation. · Receive, screen, and respond to inquiries by providing general information about the program. Assist with composing and editing documents such as class materials, handouts, syllabus, and program and marketing materials to ensure they meet Department and University standards. · Provide administrative support for academic programs including maintaining the calendar and scheduling meetings, responding to emails, answering and screening calls, preparing correspondence and reports, and maintaining department files. · Act as a resource for trainees on administrative matters including leave, benefits, and policies. · Maintain program budgets, reimbursements, and trainee-related expenses. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in related field Preferred Experience: Two or more years of administrative experience in a medical education or academic healthcare setting. Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements.
