Job Description Summary

In this role will be part of the lab team that is responsible for NPI demo and low rate engine Rotating Engine hardware. Will engage directly in the engineering aspects of the manufacturing process, with a specific focus on rotating parts such as disks, blisks, spools, and seals. This is a hands-on role where the individual will work with complex hardware on machining centers. Actively contributes to the quality of both personal work and the work of the team. Performs hands-on operational and technical tasks, following established instructions and routines. Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting the sequence of tasks to adapt to evolving work situations and ensure successful completion of duties."

Roles and Responsibilities

Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing)

Desired Characteristics

Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

NX Cad/Cam Experience

Ability to work with engineers and technicians with varying backgrounds across different organization - materials, engineering, product lines and manufacturing.
