Fabrication Buyer

Sigma Design is a product development, engineering, and manufacturing firm. Position Details:

This position will be In-Office

$88,000-$108,000 annual salary

Primary Function:

The Fabrication Parts Purchaser and Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing fabricated parts from approved vendors to support an R&D proto@type lab at our client's facility. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality compliance of all sourced components.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

Source and purchase fabricated parts from approved vendors.

Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.

Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost and delivery.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand part specifications and project requirements.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.

Maintain accurate procurement records and input data into NetSuite.

Identify and onboard new vendors as needed to support business growth.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Minimum of 3 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of fabrication processes and materials.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Strong written and verbal English language communication skills

Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group

Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values

Pass a post-offer background verification

Work Environment

Standard machine shop environment with various @types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Minimum of 3 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of fabrication processes and materials.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
