Job Summary:
Join Caterpillar's Electric Power Division in Alpharetta, GA as a Wiring Team Lead , where you'll lead a team of technicians to deliver high-quality, efficient wiring assemblies. You'll drive daily operations by escalating production issues, implementing recovery strategies, and supporting key company initiatives. With a focus on performance metrics and continuous improvement, you'll help shape a culture of accountability and collaboration. Your leadership will directly contribute to building reliable power systems that support critical infrastructure around the globe.
What You Will Do:
Identify quality, staffing, safety, and production issues and escalate them to the Section Manager and other relevant departments, including Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Facilities Maintenance, Information Technology (IT), and Quality
Ensure team members receive proper training, guidance, tools, and materials to succeed as part of the Caterpillar Switchgear Americas (CSA) production team
Assist in creating, training, implementing, and updating standardized work processes and documentation
Deliver high-quality products to customers safely and on schedule
Maintain the production schedule by prioritizing job assignments effectively
Develop and implement production schedule recovery strategies in partnership with management.
Respond to calls from other work centers and dispatch support resources as needed
Provide coverage for other Team Leads or Team Members when require
Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with company standards and engineering specifications
Eliminate defects and process inefficiencies through documentation, investigation, and root cause/corrective action analysis using Caterpillar Switchgear Americas (CSA) systems
Support and document daily 5S housekeeping activities to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Monitor and audit PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity, Cost) metrics at the cell level, including performance against standardized work, control points, and area indicators
Own and maintain accuracy and timeliness of metrics reporting for the assigned area, including data collection and updates
Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas related to the assigned area
Participate in process improvement discussions
Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for the assigned area
Collaborate with the Section Manager to implement changes aligned with the future state value stream map
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support evolving business and production needs
What You Will Have:
At least 3 years of combined experience in panel wiring and quality control
2-3 years of experience reading and working with technical drawings and schematics
Working to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, with at least a proficient level of use
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Strong team leadership abilities with a demonstrated ability to guide and support others
A willingness and ability to perform tasks and delegate responsibilities as needed
What Will Put You Ahead:
The ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Facilities Maintenance, Information Technology (IT), and Quality departments to resolve production-related issues
The capability to interface with vendors and others delivering or transporting materials to and from the facility
Advanced knowledge of alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) voltages, Caterpillar Switchgear Americas (CSA) standards, technical drawings, and wiring practices
The ability to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve issues in alignment with CSA drawings and standards
Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) systems
A high school diploma or equivalent education
Physical Requirements:
The ability to occasionally lift parts up to 35 lbs. individually or up to 70 lbs. with a team lift
The ability to bend, reach, and squat while performing tasks
The ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks
The ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
The ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods while performing tasks

Summary Pay Range:
$23.35 - $30.35
