Position Description
The IS Advisor 1 - Technical Developer position within the Strategic Automation Solutions team will be responsible for the building and implementing automation systems for key enterprise projects. The role involves researching new technologies, maintaining current infrastructure, and implementing strategies to drive innovation in process automation and system integration.
Information Technology Services (ITS) operates 24/7, and applicants must be willing and available to perform duties as needed. Due to the nature of the work, this position may require work outside regular hours.

Typical Duties
Analyze and build business requirements to assist in the development of technical solutions and align with current offerings and/or framework.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements and work closely with developers to translate them into technical solutions.
Provide and build technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design documents, and project plans.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with proposed solutions.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems architecture, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
Design, implement, and maintain automation and cloud infrastructure solutions that align with business needs.
Develop low code automation solutions utilizing Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate.
Foster the adoption of automation tools across Metro Government to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Ensure the overall health and optimal performance of automation systems and infrastructure components.
Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for automation systems.
Monitor and secure automated systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.
Generate reports and conduct usage and trend analysis to identify areas for improvement and automation opportunities.
Research emerging technologies and automation trends to inform planning for future initiatives and infrastructure upgrades.
Utilize scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Power Automate, APIs) to enhance efficiency in cloud-based and on-prem systems.
Align automation tools and processes with the broader IT enterprise architecture vision and goals.
Collaborate with the Information Security team to conduct risk assessments for new tools, products, and automation solutions.
Participate in the Change Management process for all automation-related products and services to ensure smooth deployment and operation.
Identify, prioritize, and develop functional requirements for new or improved automation features.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and practices to continuously improve the automation landscape.
Contribute to the creation of documentation, training materials, and job aids to support staff in using new automation tools and processes.
Analyze and contribute to the reengineering of business processes for greater automation and efficiency.
Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation systems and infrastructure.
Take on assignments for special projects or initiatives as required.
Conduct training sessions and mentor team members to enhance their understanding of automation and system management.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience in systems development, automation, cloud infrastructure, technical support, and scripting (such as PowerShell, Power Automate, APIs, or other automation tools).
