Job Summary
The Senior BI Developer plays a pivotal role within the Value Tracking team in the DT&I organization. This technically driven position is responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of advanced business intelligence solutions. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and the effective use of tools such as Power BI, Looker, and Qlik.
Key responsibilities include the creation and administration of BI applications, as well as the development and support of dashboards and reporting solutions. The Senior BI Developer will work closely with Business Analysts, Value Tracking Analysts, Data Scientists, Project Managers, Data Engineers, and other stakeholders to provide strategic leadership in reporting and BI initiatives.
This role ensures the successful design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of reports and dashboards built on relational and multidimensional databases, supporting critical business processes and decision-making.
Major Responsibilities:
Technical
This individual will lead all aspects of the BI development lifecycle from requirements gathering to data modeling to report development.
The team member will assume subject matter expert responsibilities in developing appropriate strategies, plans, tools and approaches to ensure successful adoption of BI reports, dashboards and scorecards.
Think analytically and critically to lead reporting standardization and automation efforts.
Present data formally and informally and facilitate discussion regarding data outputs.
Generate and prepare reports, scorecards, and dashboards to support business objectives.
Develop BI Reporting architecture, reports, dashboards, guided analytics, and other BI solutions.
Produce technical solution designs that will meet business requirements in a manner consistent with Company and industry standards.
Participate in the development and support of reporting solutions including program modifications, performance tuning, problem solving, debugging, and unit testing.
Learn and abide by corporate BI team & data governance guidance.
Participate in data modeling and loading as required by the BI Tool in use
Relationship and Team Building
Exchange detailed information across department, organization/enterprise; communicates independently, thorough understanding of organizational data, sharing technical and clinical expertise or providing direction/instruction.
Provide assistance for BI reporting solutions to the rest of the DT&I organization.
Develop and drive the implementation of management reporting best practices and standards for the team.
Collaborate with other teams to integrate solutions where additional data and subject expertise is required.
Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams using data to improve usage and operational workflow.
Driven by teamwork and ensuring the success of diverse teams.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree Required
Master's degree Preferred
5+ years of experience in data/process/analysis Required
Healthcare operations & clinical process workflow experience Preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated extensive experience in large-scale reporting development projects (ad hoc and standard queries). Required
Demonstrated broad SQL development experience with solid understanding of relational and multi-dimensional designs. Required
Experience with GCP & BigQuery and/or other cloud technologiesPreferred
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Required
Experience in an Agile BI Reporting development self-service environment Required
Experience with BI tool architectures, functions, and features desiredRequired
