Summary You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Electrical) in the Production Division, Utilities and Energy Branch of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Responsibilities You will perform visual and predictive maintenance inspections of utility facilities, distribution, and equipment using thermography, infra-red and dyes. You will maintain mechanical utility system lines/valve diagrams, schematic diagrams, and interconnection diagrams. You will assist the Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) Branch on the Installation Maintenance Plan. You will provide assistance to Public Work Department production work centers for planning and establishing outages on mechanical utility systems. You will monitor high voltage electrical utility distribution system operation, analyze applicable reports, study test results, and conduct field investigations to determine a distribution system's condition. You will plan, develop, and implement Electrical Utility functions to resolve high voltage electrical distribution system deficiencies. You will perform field checks, write outage notices, and write Switching Order Packages. You will visit work sites and sites containing high voltage electrical distribution equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing electrical distribution systems to determine deficiencies, document discrepancies, and provide recommendations and cost estimates to resolve performance issues; 2) Planning, developing, and implementing electrical utility functions to resolve high voltage electrical distribution system deficiencies; 3) Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications; 4) Visiting work sites to monitor construction progress, perform construction quality control inspections, and recommend construction changes as needed.
