Clayton Judicial Circuit- Criminal Investigator II
The Clayton Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office is seeking to hire a Criminal Investigator II. The Investigator performs complex investigative work. Conducts investigations to include assisting in interviewing witnesses, complainants, and/or law enforcement officials, and preparing reports on findings in preparation for cases. The Investigator will work cooperatively with attorneys to develop strong client relationships, defense theories, and evidence in support thereof, in conjunction with planning and conducting investigations in defense of clients charged with criminal offenses.

Description of Duties: Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of the essential duties and responsibilities. Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, Georgia P.O.S.T. certification, and one (1) year of related experience; or Georgia P.O.S.T. certification and three (3) years of experience in law enforcement or related field; or Georgia P.O.S.T. certification and one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Criminal Investigator 1 (PSP090) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require the incumbent to have a valid Class C driver's license.
