Robert Half is looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to support a long-term client engagement in Springfield, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment by ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and supporting the company's internal controls. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in month-end closings, account reconciliations, and compliance with corporate policies. This is expected to be a 5-6 month contract role. Highly qualified candidates also interested in supporting additional Sr. Accountant project opportunities following this contract can also be considered for permanent hire as a Robert Half Management Resources Full-Time Engagement Professional (not required - but available if interested).

Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage monthly journal entries, including accruals and provision adjustments.

Oversee account reconciliations and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.

Participate in month-end close processes to meet corporate deadlines.

Collaborate with the Financial Controller to evaluate and enforce internal controls and company policies.

Address inquiries from internal and external auditors during audits.

Support process improvements and assist in the development of financial reporting systems.

Contribute to the implementation of new systems or procedures for recording and reporting financial data.

Work closely with managers and various departments to ensure alignment in financial operations.

Monitor and enhance system automation across functions to streamline reporting processes.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively.

Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Solid understanding of month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Knowledge of internal controls and compliance with corporate financial policies.
