We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Springfield, Ohio. In this long-term contract role, you will play an integral part in supporting the financial operations of a leading manufacturing company by ensuring accuracy in accounting processes and compliance with internal controls. This position offers a mix of on-site and remote work (4 days onsite, 1 day remote), providing an excellent opportunity to collaborate with various departments while contributing to the company's success. Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage monthly journal entries, including accruals and provision adjustments.

Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

Support the completion of month-end close tasks, adhering to corporate deadlines.

Conduct reviews of accounting information to identify and resolve discrepancies or imbalances.

Assist in testing, maintaining, and monitoring internal controls and compliance with company policies.

Collaborate with the Financial Controller to address internal and external audit inquiries effectively.

Participate in the development and implementation of new systems and procedures related to financial reporting.

Work closely with managers and other departments to improve processes and reporting mechanisms.

Contribute to system automation projects and ensure seamless integration across functions.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.

Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.

Solid understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax returns.

Familiarity with journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end close procedures.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Availability to work on-site four days per week, with one day remote.
