Who are we looking for?

GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Decommissioning and Demolition (D&D) Field Technician to join our growing D&D team, working on projects throughout the Great Lakes region and across North America. This is a great opportunity to work with our experienced D&D experts and to gain some new skills. All necessary training and equipment are provided!

The successful candidate for this role will collaborate as an integral team member on various projects, focusing on D&D for clients in multiple sectors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and to work within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Assist engineers to design, plan, or perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

Responsibilities

Solutions Analysis: Assess compliance with established standards

and protocols for parts of routine inquiries.

Data Collection and Analysis: Perform basic data entry tasks,

including data verification.

Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow a range of mandatory

work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.

Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent

procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Testing: Perform a variety of standard tests requiring a

moderate level of judgment.

Operational Compliance: Follow a range of mandatory procedures

to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.

Waste Management: Carry out operational waste management tasks

by following established processes. Involves working within given settings or parameters.

Technical Troubleshooting: Perform basic tasks in technical

troubleshooting, such as identifying evident technical issues with equipment and experiments and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.

Ability to perform physical demanding work with the ability to lift

50lbs.

A valid driver\'s license and acceptable violation history

Willingness to travel as necessary across North America - up to 60%

overnight travel

Able and willing to travel overnight and perform field work, travel

expenses covered

Education

Upper Secondary School

Experience

General Experience: Basic experience of simple office /

operational systems (4 to 6 months)

Managerial Experience: None
