Location:** This is a fully remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office).

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Product Designer on our entrepreneurial research team at the College Board, you will be a creative and pragmatic design leader who thrives in ambiguity and moves ideas rapidly from concept to proto@type. You bring strong user-centered instincts and are energized by designing early-stage solutions that push the boundaries of what\'s possible-without the constraints of full-scale production.

In this role, you\'ll collaborate closely with researchers, data scientists, and engineers to explore new ideas, build proto@types, and generate insights that inform the future direction of our products and services. You\'re excited to co-create in a fast-moving environment, test assumptions with real users, and iterate quickly based on what you learn. You value scrappiness, evidence, and creativity over polish and perfection.

You are self-directed but highly collaborative-seeking input often, sharing ideas openly, and helping the team clarify what to build next. You bring clarity to open-ended problem spaces, distilling complex user needs into design hypotheses and tangible proto@types. You also care deeply about inclusive design and accessibility, and you bring this lens to even the earliest exploration stages.

In this role, you will

Design Strategy and User Research (50%)

Design Thinking. Apply design thinking within complex education

ecosystems to deeply understand user needs, reframe complex problems, and drive the creation of intuitive, scalable, and human-centered product solutions.

Research. Constantly conduct and synthesize generative,

formative, and evaluative research, using methods such as user interviews, usability testing, and surveys.

Research Planning and Strategy: Effectively manage and

prioritize research plans through ambiguous and fast-changing environments, align and efficiently execute critical insights and work with a large group of stakeholders

Design with Users. Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions

to align teams and uncover opportunities.

Data into Insights. Work with Data Scientist to interpretquantitative data insights and turn user, behavioral, and

operational data into actionable insights.

Prioritization. Influence prioritization and roadmapping efforts

by connecting user needs with business goals and mission.

User Advocacy. Champion human-centered and inclusive design

principles.

Storytelling. Use strategic storytelling to communicate vision,

value, and direction.

Design Execution and Delivery (25%)

Product Design. Work closely with product, engineering teams,

and subject matter experts to translate concepts into designs, creating artifacts such as user flows, sitemaps, wireframes, proto@types, and at times high-fidelity UI design. Design and create user experience proto@types and individually contribute to AI experimentation learnings and emergent product discovery.

Design Systems. Apply design systems, ensuring visual and

functional consistency as appropriate for prototyping.

Content Strategy. Write and test content using plain language

for clarity and accessibility.
