Essential Functions
Under immediate supervision, and on a temporary basis for a period
not to exceed 6 months, performs a variety of unskilled manual labor
and/or simple clerical duties
Sweeps, scrubs and polishes floors for maintenance of the public and
non-public buildings on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.
Moves heavy equipment and office equipment including chairs, desks,
filing cabinets.
Performs a variety of routine clerical duties.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably
within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the
completion of eight years of elementary school.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefers elementary knowledge of materials, tools, equipment, and
practices essential to grounds and building maintenance.
Prefers experience with the operation of simple equipment,
machinery, and tools.
Prefers experience with understanding and following oral and written
instructions.
Prefers experience with maintaining satisfactory working
relationships with management, other employees, and members of the
public.
Prefers the possession of an appropriate and valid drivers license.
Conditions of Employment
Must be able to work all 11 days of the DuQuoin State Fair, which
may include nights and weekends.
Must be able to work manual labor task for up to 10 hours a day or
more.
This position may require the position of a valid drivers license.
This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S.
Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves
lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or
carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
This position may require the ability to complete a good deal of
walking, standing, pushing, and pulling.
