A Day in the Life
In this exciting opportunity as a Manufacturing Engineer at our North Haven facility, you will use experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing to reducing waste, improving yield, and optimizing workflows.
The Manufacturing Engineer will;
Develop and optimize control strategies to improve equipment performance, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production) to implement automation solutions for new product introductions and continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation equipment to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO) and Medtronic quality systems.
Document technical designs, validations, and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or Lean tools.
Access Instrumentation and Powered (AIP)
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA)
Familiarity with regulated industry (preferably Medical): FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Experience with project management (leading cross functional team, define and manage timelines, handling capital funding requests or projects
Root Cause Analysis/Failure Analysis: PFMEA/DFMEA, 6Ms, fishbone diagrams, A3s, etc.
Statistical Analysis and Validation
Experience with CAD (Creo preferred, alternatives such as SolidWorks acceptable), AutoCAD
MES and BPCS manufacturing systems
Strong communication and dedication to team work

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$81,600.00 - $122,400.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
