Who we're looking for

Toyota's North Carolina Battery Plant Manufacturing Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Manufacturing Manager.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead night shift production and to support the Manufacturing Department and meet all manufacturing safety, quality, cost, and productivity KPIs while adhering to escalation standards for start of production (SOP) and eventual transition into stable production.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the production department's objective to produce the highest quality product in the safest most efficient manner exceeding our customer's expectations.

What you'll be doing

Promote and exemplify a safety-first work culture

Eliminate safety concerns identified via TEBA, TEMATOKA, and risk assessments

Spend considerable time on the production floor overseeing the process, developing each team member's manufacturing capability, and problem-solving methodology

Provide leadership coaching and mentorship to all team members.

Establish and manage a visual floor management system

Achieve production KPIs, visualize production status, and provide measurable and continual improvement as the shop owner

Daily shift handover with counterparts across Manufacturing division

Develop strong working relationships with floor and support groups to foster teamwork while solving project related issues

Use reflection to identify and correct gaps in standards

What you bring

Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent professional experience

Manufacturing management and supervisory experience

Must be able to work night shift schedule including weekend coverage

Ability to create and execute strategic direction

Startup / launch experience

Problem-solving ability (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP, DMAIC)

Added bonus if you have

Battery Manufacturing experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or similar technical field

Toyota Manufacturing work experience

World class management system establishment in a work site / cost center

Cross-functional work experience (Quality, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance)

Cross-functional collaboration (UTC, SOAR, etc.)

3 Pillar management / execution experience
