How will you make a difference?
Wabtec is seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The ideal candidate will plan, direct, and coordinates manufacturing processes in a vertically integrated industrial plant environment by performing the following duties.
What do we want to know about you?
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering. Alternatively: Industrial or Mechanical technicians with 10+ years of equivalent experience and a strong background in CNC Machining, sheet metal fabrication & assembly.
8 years' minimum experience within a manufacturing industry that does assembly, machining, and/or fabrication and 2 years' minimum experience of Project leadership.
Strong analytical skills, knowledge and experience in process evaluation tools: statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools.
Trained in Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, & PFMEA.
Must have a good working knowledge of entire manufacturing processes including part finishing.
Must possess good communication skills (written and oral).
What will your typical day look like?
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing processes & cellular layout to improve safety, cycle times and employee ergonomics.
Review and analysis of space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Responsible for global lean systems and ensuring effective standardization of lean methodologies.
Lead a manufacturing cell team on new product development and launch.
Working knowledge of Quality analytics tools including but not limited to SPC, FMEA preferred
Will interact with production support operators, team leaders, and shift supervisors to provide standard problem solving and process troubleshooting support.
Work with Product Engineering teams to build in process and end-of-line product verification specifications.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between
$67,400.00-$96,000.00
The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
