Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Mechanic 3 or 4 (Avionics) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the F-35 O-Level maintenance organization. This role is located at Lemoore ,CA.
Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Performs Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on F-35 aircraft. Ensures aircraft are in exceptional mechanical condition and safe for flight by performing maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements on all aircraft systems in accordance with JTD and all applicable program and service guidance.
Maintains and updates aircraft records and status within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) of ALIS. Keeps the production staff updated on aircraft status.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Maintenance Manager.
Maintenance tasks include configuring aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.
Technical requirements also include fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with maintenance and restoration of aircraft to flying condition subsequent to accomplishment of modifications and maintenance.

Conduct maintenance operations in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by governing regulatory documents to include: tool control, quality, safety, aircraft maintenance documentation, etc.
Use your proficiency with fiber optic and coaxial cable maintenance processes and procedures is highly desirable for this position.
Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
Must obtain and maintain Hydraulic Contamination and IPP qualifications throughout durations of employment.
Must be willing to deploy/travel to fulfil customer's operational commitments.
Must obtain and maintain qualifications as directed by supervisor.
Conduct F-35 program flightline maintenance operations on the avionics and electrical system of the F-35.
Performing duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, fiber optic, coaxial cable, and electrical components on aircraft.
Interpreting technical blueprint/drawings, process specifications, manufacture instructions, and documenting maintenance.
Checks, tests, and troubleshoots avionics and electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary.
You will ensure aircraft are in exceptional mechanical condition and safe for flight by performing maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements on all aircraft systems in accordance with JTD and all applicable program and service guidance.
Cuts wire to length; strips insulation from wire ends and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
You will assist with OJT training for team members and partner aircraft maintenance personnel.
You will perform required Avionics tasks as part of F-35 Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) performing organizational-level modifications.
Utilize aircraft ground support equipment to perform aircraft maintenance tasks.
Willing/able to provide temporary support to our other CLS locations and/or emerging deployments.
Willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year. Able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Weekend Shift.
Ability to obtain US Navy CDI/CDQAR Avionics certification
Experience in the use of ALIS and associated programs for documenting maintenance and reporting deficiencies within CRM and JDRS.
Reading and interpreting technical data and blueprint drawings.
Provide training via self-paced readings, labs, and on-the job training to individuals in the performance of ground maintenance duties.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and 4 Years of avionics related maintenance including, maintaining/ troubleshooting avionic systems and software updates, relevant to the F-35 platform. Will consider avionics experience in one of the following additional aircraft platforms AV-8B, F-22, F-18, F-16, or F-15; in lieu of F-35 Avionics experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working overhead.
Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation in order to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.
Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical that includes a 5-year flightline physical, audiogram, and color vision testing prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 Years F-22 or F-35 avionics experience.
Salary Range: $61,700.00 - $102,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
