As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrols in Paramus, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure and welcoming environment at a bustling retail and mall location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the property, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff. You will be expected to respond promptly to incidents, communicate clearly with team members, and use technology such as computers or tablets to document your activities. This position requires driving as part of your patrol duties, so a valid driver's license is necessary. What You'll Do:
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with access control and monitor entry and exit points as required by site procedures.
Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following established protocols.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted behaviors within the retail environment.

Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver's license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
A Guard Card or license is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
