$11.25 per hour- GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Director or designee the Administrative Assistant performs administrative and clerical duties and assists with development and implementation of administrative procedures and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Maintain regular and prompt attendance; physically present to work.

Performs after work hours as required (nights and weekends)

Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence.

Composes and @types of routine correspondence and is responsible for outgoing correspondence, including email and faxes.

Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other records.

Answers and screens telephone calls and arranges conference calls.

Coordinate, schedule, and make appointments.

Greets visitors and refers to an appropriate area or person.

Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations.

Conducts research, and compiles and @types of statistical reports.

Prepares agendas (Executive summaries), reserves and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes of meetings.

Orders and maintains supplies and arranges for equipment maintenance.

Operates and maintains the work-order system for the Public Works and Utilities Departments.

Operates and maintains the inventory system for the Public Works and Utilities Departments.

Assists the Public Works Director with all aspects of Clerical/Administrative work

Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

Minimum one year of clerical work.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

Valid Texas Driver License and maintain an insurable driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit.
