Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Lead and direct company strategies and resources to impact and influence state legislative initiatives and outcomes. Lead the Atlantic City Electric (ACE) Legislative Affairs team. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, business leaders and public interest groups. Coordinate strategies and actions across the company and externally, including but not limited to Regulatory, Communications, Marketing & Environmental Programs, Legal and external contractors.
Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead, develop and implement legislative strategies to address applicable legislative initiatives: Identification of and familiarity with national and state policy and trends potentially impacting the company; Utilization of cross-functional business resources (e.g., Communications, Legal, Regulatory, Environmental, Energy Efficiency) to enhance opportunity for success (20%)
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key state elected officials; Constitutional Officers; Agency Directors and staff. (20%)
Lead and direct legislative contract lobbyists and related contractors; implement process to ensure contract lobbyists and other contractors perform to Atlantic City Electric standards. (10%)
Represent Atlantic City Electric and promote and manage stakeholder relations with relevant state, local officials, community leaders, business, consumer and non-profit groups within the Atlantic City Electric jurisdiction and identify potential partners in legislative process to advance company and customer issues and agendas. (10%)
Represent Atlantic City Electric to state, county, local and community officials, engage in community activities, serve on the boards of directors of other organizations as appropriate and maintain relationships with community, business and political leaders. (10%)
Provide leadership to the Legislative Affairs team including performance management, employee development, communications and employee engagement. (10%)
Engage and provide input and advice in a wide range of matters such as rate cases and leadership strategies, as well as lines of business management, and works to help formulate regulatory and legislative policy or carry out a defined objective. (10%)
Oversee the budget development and management process for Atlantic City Electric Legislative Affairs (10%)
Job Scope

Regular interaction with Exelon senior management, state legislators, community leaders, regulatory, industry and oversight groups (e.g., EEI, AGA, BPU, DOT, FERC)
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy or related field
Law degree or Master's degree in business or related field
Minimum of 15 years related experience
Experience in public administration, public service government or related
Thorough understanding of state legislative process
A wide network of contacts within the business community, state and local government, elected officials and public interest groups
Fundamental understanding of the electric industry and key policy issues affecting the industry
Leadership positions in external trade associations, coalitions or industry organizations

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $220,000.00/Yr. - $302,500.00/Yr.
