This role pivots on effective information synthesis and decisive action. The Maintenance Planner acts as a critical bridge between Production and Centralized Maintenance, analyzing information from both areas to develop and execute plans that minimize production disruptions. This high-impact position requires substantial independent judgment and decision-making. While the Technical Manager provides final approval, the Maintenance Planner autonomously creates daily plans, making critical decisions that directly affect Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment, and Morale. These decisions are made with intermittent supervisory oversight, relying heavily on the Planner's training, expertise, and understanding of operational priorities.
Safety: The Maintenance Planner's decisions directly impact plant safety. For example, prioritizing and scheduling preventative maintenance tasks, selecting appropriate safety procedures for specific jobs, and ensuring adequate resources are allocated for safe execution are all crucial decisions that contribute to our goal of zero accidents.
Quality and Delivery: Effective planning and scheduling are essential for maintaining product quality and meeting delivery commitments. The Planner's decisions regarding equipment downtime, resource allocation, and prioritization of repairs directly influence product quality and on-time delivery to our customers.
Cost: The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in controlling maintenance costs. Decisions regarding the timing and scope of repairs, the efficient use of resources, and the implementation of cost-effective maintenance strategies contribute to achieving budgetary targets.
Environment and Morale: The Planners' decisions also consider environmental impact and team morale. This includes selecting environmentally responsible maintenance practices and fostering a collaborative work environment between maintenance and production teams. This collaborative approach and clear communication contribute positively to team morale and overall plant efficiency.
