Description

We are looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our team in the Triad area, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract opportunity, ideal for someone with a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting and a passion for financial analysis. The role requires expertise in standard cost accounting practices and a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs to ensure accuracy and compliance with standard cost accounting practices.

Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management for data-driven decision-making.

Collaborate with production teams to identify and implement cost-saving strategies.

Conduct variance analysis to track discrepancies between actual and standard costs.

Maintain accurate cost accounting records and ensure timely updates to financial systems.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing reliable cost estimations.

Evaluate inventory costs and reconcile discrepancies to improve accuracy.

Support audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.

Provide insights and recommendations to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements - Proven experience in cost accounting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in cost analysis and financial reporting.

Ability to perform detailed variance analysis and interpret results.

Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.

Advanced skills in financial systems and accounting software.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
