This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Information Technology Department that reports to the Executive Director of Information Technology. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary : $13.50 per hour.
Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19.50 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical College and be in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following technical competencies are preferred:
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks; Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize workload;
Ability to handle power tools such as drill press under direction; Ability to use proper judgment in selecting which issues to handle or re-direct; Ability to repeatedly lift and move boxes and equipment up to 50lbs; Some computer knowledge.
Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, a ssists in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects including cleanup after projects within the Information Technology Department. Assist with Inventory of equipment for surplus and disposal. Other duties as assigned.
