Associate Manufacturing Engineer {#associate-manufacturing-engineer-1 title="Lead Module Engineer [1636054]"}

Overview

Working in a fast-paced team environment, the ME Jr will work cross-functionally within the training department. This position is responsible for assisting with change using process improvement methodologies, helping implementing training strategies. Evaluates, assists, improves and implement manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

Train, coach and develop production Assemblers in all technical and process skills, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical and soft good parts.

Learn and use TWI process to write and train using JIBs (job instruction breakdown sheets); must train others using JIBs when available. Must be able to create, edit and print JIBs from database.

Must have desire and ability to work in a team environment with different @type of employees/personalities and support RECAROs employees and business needs

Maintain constant communication with the training department, production supervisors and management in regards to progress of trainees, issues and certification readiness analysis.

Must show a professional behavior at all times and good communication with all employees on the line and other departments. Act as a positive role model for production employees.

Learn and understand the product and process well enough to be able to certify production employes.

Able to teach technical material in a classroom setting.

Effectively utilize Lean, Six Sigma, other CI methodologies and support activities for Value Stream Maps (current and future) according to the Lean Operations Roadmap.

Interfaces with industrial engineer and production to develop shop floor photo documentation and standard work instructions.

Creates an atmosphere for development of new concepts, ideas and methods to support continuous improvement in the department.

Assists in implementing production standard methods to reduce manufacturing costs, applying lean principles while ensuring quality as part of the process.

Assists in developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.

Help troubleshoot any technical design difficulties w/ operator, which may arise during the manufacture of product and take appropriate action to prevent future occurrences of the problems.

Assists with on the job training as needed during production.

Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or GED Equivalent required

Associates degree or technical certification is preferred

Experience:

5 or more years of work related experience preferably in aircraft or a combination of education and experience.

Experience communicating with all levels of employees and leadership; experience communicating with outside suppliers

Proficient in creating and reviewing documents

Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a high pressure environment

Proven ability to make sound decisions

Beginner root cause analysis capability using previous experience.

Able to read engineering drawings to assist production assemblers

Experienced in following process control as related to production fixtures and assembly

Ability to independently plan and prioritize tasks
