Contract Senior Manufacturing Engineer Duration: 6 Month Contract Are you a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer ready to make an impact in the fast-paced world of medical devices? We're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a 6-month contract to support new product launches and design updates for innovative drug-device combination products. This is an excellent opportunity to drive design transfer, improve manufacturing processes, and collaborate cross-functionally with a dynamic, quality-focused team. What You'll Do Design and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts to enhance productivity and reduce cost. Lead process improvements and optimization of drug coating processes and related equipment. Support and guide design transfer activities for new products and updates to existing products. Collaborate with project managers to estimate project timelines and development plans. Participate in or lead DFM, PFMEA, DFMEA, CTQ, and Process Mapping activities. Create process flow diagrams, capacity analyses, tooling strategies, and production layouts. Manage and support validation/qualification activities (IQ, OQ, PQ, MSA). Drive Lean initiatives to stabilize and improve production operations. Develop key documentation including work instructions, control plans, job safety analysis sheets, and testing protocols. Ensure compliance with QMS, ISO 13485, and applicable regulatory standards. Maintain equipment readiness and coordinate necessary maintenance and repairs. What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering. Proven background in lean manufacturing, medical device production, and design transfer. Experience working within ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 regulated environments. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Six Sigma, and Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred). Hands-on experience with ERP systems, production scheduling, and cost analysis. Strong communication and leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel up to 5%, domestic or international.
