About the Division:
Join the Revenue Accounting Division team as an Accounts Examiner! The Revenue Accounting Division is participating in the "Returnship Program" which will reintroduce on-the-job training skills to individuals who have been away from the workforce for two years or longer and are looking to re-enter the workforce. As a part of the Returnship Program, we are hiring for our Tax Allocation section.
For this position, work involvesexamining records, tax reports, and documentation submitted by taxpayers and their representatives. Uses a mainframe computer system and/or personal computer to code or run programs, inquire on taxpayer accounts, update files and data, or produce reports. Duties are performed in a team-oriented environment and are subject to tight deadlines. May be assigned as an individual or as a team member for special projects, as needed. Performs assigned work using a computer, as needed, located at their workstation in an open environment. Prepares reports accurately using word processing or spreadsheets and proofreads same for accuracy as assigned.

Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evening, weekend hours and holidays. Hours may change based on business need.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree.
Two years analytical or problem-solving experience.
Must be a proficient user of a computer in a Windows environment.
Must have good writing skills, including proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Must be out of the workforce for the last two or more years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree inaccounting or business-related field.
Substitutions:
One additional year of experience performing analytical or problem-solving experience work may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).

Calculating tax, penalty, interest, and refund amounts.

Appropriately store, secure, and protect sensitive records and other confidential documents and data in accordance with the agencys certified Records Retention Schedule.
