In this position...
We are looking for a thoughtful and detail-oriented UX Designer specializing in Design Systems to join our growing design system team. In this role, you will help shape the core design language that powers our products and ensure consistent, accessible, and scalable user experiences across platforms.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams-including product designers, engineers, accessibility specialists, and product managers-to evolve and maintain our design system guidelines. Your work will directly impact the productivity of our product teams and the quality of our customer experiences.
This position is onsite four days per week in Dearborn Michigan.

What you'll do...
Understanding of Atomic Design Principles
Create and maintain Design System Guidelines & Patterns
Design, document, and maintain components, patterns, and interactions within the design system.
Collaborate with product designers to understand common UI/UX needs and contribute reusable solutions.
Contribute to governance processes that ensure consistency and high standards across the design system and products.
Advocate for best practices in usability, accessibility (WCAG), and interaction design.
Create usage guidelines, documentation, and training materials to support design system adoption across the organization.
Conduct user research and usability testing specific to system components, patterns, and workflows.
Stay up to date with UX trends, tools, and technologies, and identify opportunities to improve the design system.
Partner with engineers to ensure accurate and accessible implementation of design components. (not sure if this needs to be there)
Proficient in Human-centered design
Socialize a design system across internal organizations
Create unified, cohesive set of UX and visual guidelines for in-vehicle and mobile products
Partner and collaborate with Product Designers, Software Engineers and Product Manager
Care about creating inclusive and accessible products
Part of a team that ensures design quality across all facets of UI, illustration, motion etc
What you'll have...
4+ Years working in UI/UX field
2+ Years working with design systems
Experience designing for multiple platforms (Web, iOS, Android, etc)
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain system documentation
Excellent collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills
Passion for design consistency, scalability and accessibility
Highly Proficient with current design tools (Figma)
Proficient with current prototyping tools (Protopie)
Full range of interaction, visual, and prototyping skills
Excellent presentation and documentation skills, strong writing skills
Record of leading projects to successful outcomes for users and business
Able to precisely articulate design rationale and present to stakeholders
