We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ADAS Workshop and Owner's Manual Engineer to join our ADAS Applications Systems Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and clarity of the Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) sections within the workshop manuals used by the dealership technicians to diagnose and repair our vehicles. You will also be in charge of the content in the Owner's Manual which will include working with our Feature Teams and our Legal teams to make sure the customer has the most accurate and easily consumable knowledge of how the ADAS features are expected to function and how to operate them. You will drive the coordination of workshop and owner's manual updates and oversee global program sign-offs for every program and model year. This position is crucial for integrating ADAS technologies into official documentation, ultimately supporting efficient vehicle diagnostics and repairs across our global network.
What you'll do...
Plan, draft, and manage changes and updates to all sections of the workshop and owner's manual that include ADAS technology.
Oversee and secure the official sign-off for workshop and owner's manual content for each vehicle program and model year.
Collaborate closely with Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD), the owners of the workshop manuals, to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
Collaborate closely with ADAS feature owners, legal counsel, and HMI (Human Machine Interface) teams to ensure timely and accurate documentation for the owner's manual.
Ensure the workshop and owner's manual accurately reflects new ADAS features and technologies as they are developed and integrated into vehicles.
Identify opportunities within the workshop manual content to improve warranty costs, develop comprehensive business cases for proposed changes, and submit them to FCSD.
Work with FCSD to develop and implement new diagnostic tools and procedures for dealerships, aiming to enhance diagnostic efficiency, accuracy, and reduce repair costs.
Test workshop manual procedures in-vehicle to prove-out new methods.
Test in vehicle feature / functions to determine accuracy of the owner's manual.
Be prepared to contribute to other systems engineering tasks within the ADAS Applications team during periods of lower workshop manual activity.
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
1+ year of engineering experience in the automotive industry, gained at a Ford, another OEM, or supplier.
1+ year of experience performing system resolution with cross-functional teams in the Automotive industry.
1+ year of experience working with ADAS systems or features design and development.
1+ year of experience performing System Engineering activities.
Demonstrated understanding of automotive diagnostics, including Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical specification files for Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
Proven technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and accurately to a general audience
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, organize a dynamic workload, and consistently meet deadlines.
Willingness to work occasional flexible hours to collaborate with global team members.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Direct experience with automotive technical documentation, workshop manuals, owner's manuals or service information systems.
Familiarity with Ford's internal systems and processes related to vehicle development, service, and documentation.
Experience with warranty analysis, cost reduction initiatives, or service tool development.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deliverables.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various internal teams and external partners like FCSD.
A deep understanding of ADAS architectures, functionalities, and diagnostic challenges.
Strong understanding of the practical diagnostic and repair challenges faced by automotive dealership technicians.
