RESPONSIBILITIES A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Performs routine clerical tasks such as reviewing and distributing incoming mail, maintaining files/records, faxing or photocopying. 2. Receptionist duties which include answering telephone promptly and courteously, relaying calls to appropriate staff member or taking messages. 3. Processes text message reminder requests for notices of court hearings. Responds to public record and copy requests in a timely manner and prepares billing invoices, when needed. Assist public with regards to public access area with purchasing documents electronically. 5. Scans documents daily to meet deadlines. 6. Prepare and bulk scan files and documents in a timely manner. Prepare bulk mailings. 7. Assist public and attorneys in the absence of front counter staff. 8. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner. 9. Must be familiar with and exemplify the Wood County Core Values and serve with courtesy and respect in accordance with the Wood County Code of Conduct. B. OTHER JOB DUTIES 1. Inventories and stock supplies. 2. Other duties as may be assigned. AA/EOE ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: -One (1) year secretarial, clerical or office experience. -Further requirements include typing skills of 45 w.p.m.; working knowledge of computers (Word software) as well as perform data entry on a computer record system, and ability to learn any upgrades and changes that may occur. -Accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent organizational skills are a must. -Knowledge of the function of the Wisconsin legal system preferred. -Basic, everyday living skills are needed, as is the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions and to communicate effectively, verbally. Reading, writing, adding, and subtracting is needed for performing the essential functions of the position.
